Anonymous submission! Thanks. :) Hope you get that ice scraper, anon.
These have been sitting in the ask box for quite some time now and it’s not because I was ignoring them, but rather I wanted to give them their own post apart from “YKYFCW”. And I also wasn’t quite sure what to say along with these.
But I also realized there is nothing to say.
You can’t say anything when something like this happens. Words don’t make the situation un-happen, or make the pain go away. I lost my grandfather this summer; he was a great man with a lot of affect on my life. He wasn’t in that theatre, and someone didn’t shoot him with a gun and take his life from him.
But I know it’s painful.
Words are oft little comfort in these situations. The most anyone can do is hold someone who is hurting and let them know that they are there.
The theatre shooting is a tragedy. My bus drives past that theatre every day, on the way back from class, and I see everything that people have left for loved ones. I see people on the bus, who refuse to look in that direction, but I can read the expressions on their face and I know that they knew someone who was in there. Often I want to touch their shoulder, and tell them I’m sorry. Not “it’s okay”, because it’s not. But that I’m sorry, and that I hope their pain lessens. Healing does not require forgetting those who we have lost.
People have told me on various occasions that I am a good person to talk to when they are troubled, or hurting. I don’t judge people, and I don’t let loose the words that people have told me. In general, I am just a listening ear and a shoulder to use for support or to cry on.
I know there’s not much to say on the situation, or if anyone wants to talk, but I am here. I’ve got skype, and I don’t do video chats, but if anyone wants to talk you can ask me for my skype (off anon, please, so that I may respond privately). Even if it’s one conversation and we never speak again, that’s fine. Sometimes it’s easier to talk to a stranger.
Hey, still having the unfortunate computer problem. Amazingly, we seemed to have gained 27 followers (and perhaps lost a few).
Thanks to the ones still sticking around. I’m making some posts for you right at this moment!
I’m sorely tempted to tell you if you’re at the Community College of Aurora to come find me in the CenterTech campus library while I work, haha. (I am only half-way kidding)
Stand by for updates!
Sure, I’ve got no problem with that! I’d just like a link back to the blog if you post content from here. :) Also please, do send a link. I can stick you in the side bar.
I am still attempting to fix my computer problem by either installing something other than windows on my computer, and if that doesn’t work I’ll just buy a new computer.
Anyways classes have started again so I think I can make a few updates every now and then from the library on campus. It’s good to be back!
